Bishan Thakur
Born in the secluded Pangi Valley of Chamba, Bishan Thakur grew up in the Himalayas. Guided by the quiet beauty of his homeland, Bishan earned his Master’s in Tourism from HPU Shimla and began his journey with Banjara Camps & Retreats. Five years in the high Himalayas shaped his philosophy, that true hospitality isn’t built, it’s felt.
In time, that belief took form as Parasol Camps & Retreats. What started with a single campsite in Rakchham, Sangla Valley, grew to the iconic Chandratal Lake, Kaza, and Baga Sarahan. Each a celebration of nature, culture, and connection.
Today, with over 30 years in Himalayan tourism, Bishan Thakur stands as both guide and guardian. A pioneer who turned his love for the mountains into a legacy of mindful exploration.
Neel Thakur
When Neel Thakur joined his uncle Bishan Thakur in 2011, Parasol Adventures didn’t just grow in numbers. It came alive with momentum. Armed with a postgraduate degree in Tourism from Panjab University, Chandigarh, Neel brought more than knowledge. He brought curiosity. The kind that turns travel into transformation.
He carries the same respect for the Himalayas that built Parasol, yet sees them through a different lens. To him, adventure is not about hardship. It is about harmony. He blends the rugged with the refined, shaping journeys that honor both the land and the traveler. Sustainable exploration wrapped in seamless experience.
