Where Stillness Lives, And The Mountains Speak

There are places you don’t just visit — you return to them even when you’ve left.
Spiti is one of those places.
And the road that takes you there? It’s a poem carved in stone, a slow dance between you, the sky, and the wide silence of the Himalayas.
This 7-day journey through Kinnaur and Spiti Valley, via Chitkul, is not just a trip.
It’s a deliberate slowing down. It’s for people who know the best kind of high is found at 14,000 feet under a thousand stars.
And the best kind of company? A small, thoughtful group of strangers who feel like old friends by the end.

Itinerary

Expand all

Day 1 : Shimla → Sangla

Start where the pines whisper and the Baspa river sings. We roll through the folds of Sangla Valley — apples in bloom, wood smoke in the air, and the valley opening like a storybook. Stay: Hotel | Altitude: 8,900 ft | Drive: 240 KM | 6–7 hrs

Day 2: Sangla → Chitkul → Kalpa

Morning sun on your face. River songs in your ears. Today, we meet Chitkul — the last village before Tibet. Then up to Kalpa, where Shiva once wintered, and the sun sets behind Kinner Kailash like a silent prayer. Stay: Hotel | Altitude: 11,345 ft | Drive: 90 KM | 4–5 hrs

Day 3: Kalpa → Nako → Tabo

The road today? One of the most dramatic in the world. Watch the green slowly fade to brown. Stop at the mirror lake of Nako. Whisper a wish at 1000-year-old Tabo Monastery. Stay: Hotel | Altitude: 10,000 ft | Drive: 159 KM | 7–8 hrs

Day 4: Tabo → Pin Valley → Dhankar → Kaza

Into the wild heart of Spiti. Mudh village is where time forgets to move. Catch your breath (and maybe a snow leopard’s shadow) in Pin Valley. Watch the sunset from a café in Kaza, and realize you’ve never felt this free. Stay: Hotel | Altitude: 13,800 ft | Drive: 45 KM | 4–5 hrs

Day 5: Kaza → Langza → Hikkim → Komik → Ki → Kaza

Highest villages. Oldest monasteries. Send a postcard from Hikkim, the highest post office in the world. Stand under the giant Buddha at Langza and know — some places don’t need words. Stay: Hotel | Altitude: 14,800 ft | Drive: 25 KM | 2–3 hrs

Day 6: Kaza → Kibber → Chicham → Kunzum La → Losar / Chandratal

Walk across Asia’s highest bridge. Say a prayer at Kunzum Pass. And then, as night falls, sit by Chandratal Lake — the Moon Lake — and watch the Milky Way stretch above you like an ancient lullaby. Stay: Camps / Homestay | Altitude: 14,800 ft | Drive: 63 KM | 5–6 hrs

Day 7: Chandratal → Chattru → Atal Tunnel → Manali

One last chai at a mountain dhaba. One last bend in the road. We drive back through Chattru and the Atal Tunnel to Manali, carrying dust in our boots, stars in our memory, and stories to tell forever. No stay | Drive: 138 KM | 7–8 hrs
