The Call of the Wild, Wrapped in Snow

Somewhere, in the folds of Spiti’s white silence, moves the Snow Leopard. Elusive. Ghostlike.
A creature few have seen, and fewer still have followed.

This isn't just a road trip. It's a high-altitude pursuit through Himalayan frost, across forgotten villages, and into the very heart of winter.

Day 1: Chandigarh → Rampur

Mountains rise. Cities fall away. Through Narkanda and into Satluj Valley, we trace the river to Rampur, once a royal seat, now a quiet town where history lingers in the walls of Padam Palace.

Day 2: Rampur → Nako → Tabo

A long, winding ride through changing worlds. Green forests fade to stark cliffs. We cross into Kinnaur, the Hangrang Valley, and finally Spiti—barren, beautiful, and breathless. Tabo welcomes us with hearth and homestay.

Day 3: Tabo → Pin Valley → Kaza

Morning light in ancient Tabo Monastery. Then deeper into Spiti. Snow covers Pin Valley like a story half-told. We follow it until the road allows, then retreat to the warmth of Kaza.

Day 4: Kaza → Ki – Kibber → Chicham

Monasteries perched like dreams. We visit Ki. Cross Kibber. Then Chicham—the last outpost before wilderness. Home for the next few days. We meet our guides. Learn. Adjust. Settle into stillness.

Day 5-7: Sighting Days

Mornings start early. We hike. In snow. In silence. Three days spent watching, waiting, listening - for paw prints, movement, breath. You might not see the Leopard. But you will feel its presence. And that’s enough.

Day 8: Chicham → Rampur

We descend. Slowly. Saying goodbye to the altitude, the snow, the stillness.

Day 9: Rampur → Chandigarh

The road bends back to the city. The Himalayas in the rearview, but somehow—still with you.
